The new Ambulance 30 is a 2002 Medic Master Ambulance. This unit is built on a Freightliner FL-60 Chassis. We have chosen options for this unit such as the on-spot tire chains for better traction in snow and ice. Heated compartments for the oxygen cylinders, first in bag, IV fluids, and Drug box were added to help keep our IV fluids and o2 warm.. We also made some changes to the lighting systems, to include mostly LED lights as opposed to halogen and strobes. LED's are much more reliable and will last much much longer. We also had red flashers installed on the inside of the compartment doors to add a little more safety for our members. Another device was added to notify the driver of the ambulance if a door or compartment is left open. There is an a indicator light installed in the cab of the unit to alert the driver prior to moving the vehicle or while the vehicle is moving. One of the most interesting options we had installed is a cylinder lift, this will facilitate the on-board oxygen tank being lifted into the unit mechanically as opposed to manually. The onboard oxygen tank is a large steel cylinder and can weigh hundreds of pounds. This will make changing it out much easier and hopefully save a lot of backs.
Our newest Ambulance was delivered on January 15th 2003.
